Summary of Position
This job performs routine clerical and administrative work in answering phones, receiving the public and providing customer assistance.
Education and Experience
A high school diploma or GED required.-Six (6) months of clerical or customer service experience required.
Knowledge Skills and Ability
- A Demonstrated ability to greet/ assist customers in a friendly and professional manner.
- Strong telephone etiquette and the ability to transfer calls appropriately.
- Must have great Customer Service Skills and be dependable.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, strong computer skills required.
- Operate general office equipment including copier and scanner.
- Computer literacy to include the ability to use Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask
Essential Functions
- Performs clerical work for the Administrative offices, including data entry for prospective student inquiries.
- Serves as receptionist for the Administration building, receiving all visitors and providing directions and information as appropriate.
- Responsible for answering and routing incoming calls to the appropriate individual or department, to include preparing clear, concise and accurate messages when necessary.
- Greets visitors and directs visitors to appropriate departments within the building and across Central Campus
- Responds to questions or inquiries from visitors and refers, when necessary, to appropriate campus departments.
- Performs clerical duties as assigned: types letters, memos and forms; sorts and distributes mail; sends and routes faxes; files and maintains routine records; data entry; assists clerical staff as required.
- Maintains mailing and contact list.
- Assist with requisitions, work orders, BOA authorizations, file management systems, tracking.
- Event preparation assistance.
- Assists with other duties as assigned.
