Summary of Position
This is a part-time staff position directly responsible to the Associate Dean, Fort Hood Campus. Overall duties and responsibilities are to monitor laboratory activities and equipment in the computer lab, ensure proper functioning of equipment, and open and close rooms and buildings.
Education and Experience
High School Diploma or GED is required.-Six months work experience required.
Knowledge Skills and Ability
- Must have basic knowledge of computers and peripheral equipment.
- Must be familiar with basic computer and computer peripheral equipment maintenance.
- Must possess poise and be capable of working under precise and exacting conditions.
- Will be neat in appearance, have a pleasant demeanor and work well with others.
- Ability to perform duties and responsibilities with minimal supervision.
- Be able to work LAB hours as required, including evenings and weekends.
Essential Functions
- The essential functions of this position include, but are not limited to: Monitor computer lab use and ensure proper operation of lab equipment.
- Assist students with basic computer-related questions.
- Ensure all lab equipment is functioning properly at all times.
- Handle basic troubleshooting of computers and peripheral equipment. Keep lab clean and orderly.
- Open and close computer lab, classrooms, and buildings according to schedule.
- Ensure building security and report deficiencies to supervisor. Install printer cartridges and stock printers with paper and assist instructors with instructional aids and supplies.
- Direct students to the appropriate classrooms and coordinate classroom changes, if necessary.
- Provide assistance in other areas of the computer lab as requested.
- Other duties as assigned by the Dean.
