Quality Control Technician
Job Summary
The Quality Control Technician is responsible for sampling and testing aggregates, ready-mix concrete, and concrete masonry products to ensure compliance with industry and project specifications. This position also supports production operations and requires a willingness to learn concrete batching, equipment operation, and quality control processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform sampling and testing of aggregates, concrete, and masonry products.
- Follow company safety policies and OSHA regulations.
- Document and communicate test results accurately and timely.
- Evaluate results and assist in resolving quality concerns.
- Coordinate with plant personnel, management, contractors, and inspectors.
- Support ready-mix operations and production activities as needed.
- Learn and operate loaders, forklifts, and other equipment.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
- Wear and maintain required PPE.
- Work flexible schedules, including overtime and occasional night work.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous concrete, aggregate, construction materials, or quality control experience preferred.
- Valid driver's license required.
- Ability to obtain required industry certifications.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to operate a ¾-ton pickup truck with a 20-foot trailer preferred.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather and industrial environments.
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
