Loader Operator and Groundman
Job Description Summary
Employee responsible for various tasks and duties assigned by the supervisor. These duties may involve a broad range of responsibilities.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ability to lift 50lbs, 100 lbs. with team or assisted lift.
- Requires physical labor such as shoveling, lifting, cleaning yard and plant work area.
- Operate Forklift and Loading Machine.
- Perform daily pre-start up procedures, i.e. note the service due date, check fluid levels and make sure the equipment to be used is in good running order, complete Daily Equipment Checklist.
- The ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, and fill out routine paperwork.
- Keep equipment clean. Wiping down equipment not only promotes a positive public image, but enables the operator to inspect the equipment at close range.
- Provide customer service on an internal and external basis.
- Load and unload incoming and outgoing trucks.
- Stock inventory.
- Follows policies and procedures to ensure the job is done properly.
- Attendance required according to company attendance policy to ensure crew is able to operate at normal efficiency level.
- Attitude/Cooperation: Must always maintain a courteous and professional manner with co-workers, customers, public.
- Craftsmanship and ability to follow OSHA/MSHA safety standards.
- Ability to be flexible with last minute schedule changes, location changes, time of shift changes.
- Ability to transport material with attention to detail and emphasis on safety.
- Initiative to perform/assist with other positions for job completion.
- Ability to adhere to personal protective equipment (PPE) policy and maintain individual PPE in functional condition.
- This is an entry-level position. Candidates may be crossed-trained to perform other duties in the plant as deemed necessary.
- Must pass drug test, criminal background check, and Functional Capacity Exam.
Physical Demands:
- Ability to stand for duration of shift, typical shift is 8-12 hours.
- Physical ability to operate equipment and to transport material. Position may require employee to unload truck by hand.
Education/Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
