What are the responsibilities and job description for the T. Austin Finch Auditorium Stage Monitor/Assistant position at Central Office?
JOB DESCRIPTION
Employee must perform a large amount of behind the scenes labor in settings where performances take place. Examples include building, placing, and changing sets; setting up sound systems, lighting, and props; and completing miscellaneous duties related to the production being worked on.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Communicating with the sound and light technicians in regards to an event backstage.
- Communicating with the Manager/Director of the Auditorium if any additional assistance is needed backstage.
- Monitoring Auditorium areas that include the upstairs dressing room, green room, quick change area, wings of the stage as well as behind the curtain during performances.
- Monitoring all of the auditorium equipment on stage while in use during a performance as well as assisting with the “breakdown” of a set after a performance.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Being flexible to be a runner for all areas of the Auditorium if needed.
- Ability to work productively without close supervision, and respond courteously to citizens.
- Ability to understand and follow specific oral and written instructions.
- Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Must be able to physically perform the basic life operational functions of hearing, talking, and repetitive motions. While performing the responsibility of this job the employee is regularly expected to stand and walk and sometimes has to stoop, kneel, or crouch. Must be able to perform sedentary work exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
