Description of Work and Expectations
Scope of Services.
Austin Finch Auditorium manager will be responsible for managing all events held at the auditorium. Duties include scheduling events, managing and scheduling needed staff, reporting repairs, and collecting and processing all rental fees and rental agreements.
Auditorium Manager Responsibilities:
Manager shall be responsible for the following:
- Scheduling all events held at T. Austin Finch Auditorium.
- Maintaining a calendar and website information for all scheduled events at T. Austin Finch Auditorium.
- Accepting and processing all applications for facility use and deposits following all Finance processes and procedures.
- Managing all staff for T. Austin Finch Auditorium (Schedule, timesheets/timekeeper, etc.) and maintaining an annual updated list of all auditorium staff, job titles, rates of pay, etc.
- Ensuring each renter is aware of use of facility policies and procedures.
- Reporting all maintenance repairs to Thomasville City Schools.
- Maintaining office hours, 4 hours per week, which will be posted on the Thomasville City Schools website
- Maintaining a telephone number and email address where members of the public and Thomasville City Schools’ staff can correspond.
- Responding to correspondence within 24 hours
- Evaluating all staff annually using TCS Classified Evaluation Form
- Completing annual review and revision of rental policy, procedures, and fees with TCS Finance Staff
- Providing recommendations for the hiring of personnel following Thomasville City Schools Human Resources and hiring procedures
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Detail-oriented with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and work independently.
Working Conditions:
- Part-time, 20 hours per week maximum.
- Occasional evening or weekend work for school events or reporting deadlines.
Compensation:
Salary commensurate with experience, in accordance with the district's salary schedule.
Terms of Employment:
Twelve month work year/At Will/FLSA Non-Exempt
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Demonstrates functional knowledge of computers and all aspects of the Microsoft
- Office Professional software programs.
- Considerable knowledge of accounting practices.
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing; ability to
- communicate with school personnel, employees, and central office staff while
- complying with the confidentiality requirements in local, state, and federal policies and
- statutes.
- Ability to work with a high degree of accuracy.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Ability to interact and deal with the public in a professional manner.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships as necessitated by work
- assignments.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Must be able to physically perform the basic life operational functions of fingering, grasping, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions. Must be able to perform sedentary work exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects. Some positions assigned to this class may require light work exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.
Additional Information:
This position is a classified, at-will position within the Thomasville City Schools. As such, this description of work and expectations will be reviewed annually pending performance evaluation and available funding for the position.
