- Facilitate oral communication between language minority families and district staff by interpreting telephone conversations, conference calls, in-person conversations, etc., during school hours, for parent/teacher conferences, after-school activities, including parent trainings, IEP & 504 meetings, and other school functions

- Maintains a shared electronic calendar with the supervisor of all scheduled meetings across the district

- Translates school-home communications and system-wide documents from English to the target language as needed
|
- Uses technology appropriately to format, translate, save, and retrieve work
|
- Maintains an electronic calendar and works with electronic documentation
|
- Reviews and evaluates documents as needed; Clarifies content and terminology
|
- Edits the work of other translators and responds to editing suggestions of others
|
- Assumes responsibility for the quality of translation work submitted by reviewing, editing, and revising own work, and the quality of interpretation by clarifying ideas and messages to assist with understanding

- Attends professional trainings, meetings, or conferences as requested by the immediate supervisor
|
- Maintains cultural sensitivity when relaying concepts and ideas between languages
|
- Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with students, peers, parents, and community; ability to communicate clearly and concisely both orally and in writing

- Interacts and develops working relationships with professionals, staff, students, and their families using positive interpersonal, oral, and written communication in English and a second language
|
- Maintains confidentiality and abides by federal, state, and local board policies
|
- Serves as an administrative assistant and assistant in the communication department
|
- Performs all other job-related duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor
