Responsibilities
- Determine the summer school population in collaboration with guidance counselors and high school principals.
- Coordinate the scheduling of classes, activities, and staff assignments.
- Monitor student enrollment, attendance, and academic progress, providing support intervention and discipline as needed.
- Facilitate a positive and inclusive school culture that promotes student engagement and success.
- Collaborate with parents, guardians, and community members to encourage participation and support for the program.
- Ensure compliance with all district policies and state regulations regarding summer educational programs.
- Prepare and manage the Summer School budget, including allocation of resources and materials.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of the Summer School program and recommend improvements for future sessions.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Administration, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of three years of experience in educational administration or teaching at the high school level.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups of students, staff, and community members.
- Knowledge of curriculum development and instructional best practices.
- Experience with data analysis to assess student performance and program effectiveness.
- Current Pennsylvania administrative certification required.
- Availability to work throughout the duration of the Summer School program, including pre-program planning and post-program evaluation.
