Position Summary:
The Central Dauphin School District is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Head Coach for the Girls Basketball program. This leadership role is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the program, including varsity, junior varsity, and developmental levels. The Head Coach will cultivate a culture of excellence, integrity, and accountability while supporting the academic and personal growth of student-athletes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide overall leadership and direction for the entire girls’ basketball program
- Plan, organize, and supervise all practices, games, and team events
- Develop and implement a comprehensive program philosophy and style of play
- Oversee and mentor assistant and sub-varsity coaches to ensure program alignment
- Foster skill development, teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship among athletes
- Ensure the safety, health, and well-being of all student-athletes
- Promote academic success and monitor student eligibility
- Maintain effective communication with players, parents, staff, and administration
- Manage program logistics including scheduling, equipment, uniforms, and budgeting
- Ensure compliance with district policies and PIAA rules and regulations
- Organize and support offseason training, camps, and player development initiatives
- Represent the program and district in a positive and professional manner

Qualifications:
- Prior head coaching or significant assistant coaching experience (high school or higher preferred)
- Strong knowledge of basketball fundamentals, game strategy, and player development
- Proven leadership, organizational, and team-building skills
- Ability to mentor and positively influence student-athletes
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Commitment to education-based athletics and student development
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience managing a multi-level athletic program
- Demonstrated success in building and sustaining a competitive program
Compensation:
- Stipend based on district pay scale and experience
