The Chief Operating & Innovation Officer provides leadership for institutional innovation and the school’s operational infrastructure, ensuring that systems, facilities, technology, safety, and athletic operations support the mission and strategic priorities of Central Catholic High School. The role oversees Facilities, Information Technology, Safety & Security, and the operational aspects of Athletics, aligning operational effectiveness with forward-thinking innovation across both academic and administrative areas.
Working closely with the President and members of the leadership team, this position leads cross-functional initiatives that strengthen organizational effectiveness, modernize systems and processes, and advance strategic implementation across the school. The Chief Operating & Innovation Officer serves as a key integrator, translating institutional vision into sustainable systems, improved workflows, and innovative practices that enhance the student and employee experience.
This position reports to the President.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities

- Provides executive oversight of Buildings & Grounds, Information Technology, Campus Safety, and athletic operations to ensure safe, efficient, and mission-aligned school operations.
- Establishes operational priorities that support academic programming, student life, and long-term institutional growth.
- Oversees campus infrastructure planning, maintenance strategy, space utilization, and capital project coordination in partnership with the CFO and President.
- Ensures alignment between operational systems and the overall student and employee experience.
- Leads innovation across the institution, including academic, operational, and administrative domains.
- Identifies opportunities for systems modernization, process improvement, and organizational efficiency.
- Partners with academic leadership to support instructional innovation while ensuring operational feasibility and sustainability.
- Champions thoughtful adoption of emerging technologies and innovative practices aligned with mission and strategic priorities.
- Drives innovation as an integrated leadership function rather than a standalone initiative, ensuring implementation and measurable impact.
- Provides strategic oversight of institutional platforms and technology ecosystems, including SIS, LMS, CMS, and related systems.
- Ensures integration, long-term planning, and alignment across digital infrastructure.
- Collaborates with academic and administrative leadership to support data-informed decision-making and improved user experience.
- Leads cross-departmental strategic initiatives in partnership with the President and leadership team.
- Supports implementation of the school’s strategic plan through operational execution and institutional alignment.
- Fosters cross-departmental collaboration to remove barriers and advance organizational priorities.
- Serves as a member of the President's Leadership Team.
- Advises senior leadership on operational strategy, infrastructure planning, and innovation opportunities.
- Represents operational and innovation priorities in internal and external stakeholder discussions.
- Performs other duties consistent with the scope and objectives of the role.
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree in education leadership, business administration, organizational leadership, or related field preferred.
- Commitment to the mission and values of Central Catholic High School or demonstrated experience working within mission-driven organizations.
- Demonstrated senior leadership experience overseeing complex operational areas such as facilities, technology, safety/security, or organizational infrastructure.
- Experience leading organizational change and managing complex institutional transitions.
- Strong strategic thinking skills with the ability to translate institutional vision into sustainable systems, processes, and execution.
- Proven ability to drive innovation through systems modernization, process improvement, and technology integration.
- Experience leading cross-functional initiatives that require collaboration across academic, administrative, and operational teams.
- Experience supervising and developing directors or senior staff, with a leadership style that promotes accountability, clarity, and collaboration.
- Understanding of institutional technology ecosystems (e.g., student information systems, learning management systems, communication platforms) and their role in organizational effectiveness.
- Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining strategic focus.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with experience working with senior leadership, faculty/staff, and external partners.

- Standing and Walking: Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods (up to 6-8 hours per day).

- Speaking/Verbal Communication: Ability to clearly articulate verbal information to students, parents, and colleagues, including the ability to project one's voice in a classroom or auditorium setting.
- Sitting: Ability to sit for moderate periods to complete administrative tasks.
- Quick Response: Ability to physically respond quickly to emergencies, safety concerns, or unexpected physical demands (e.g., intervening in a student dispute, assisting an injured student, or performing emergency evacuation procedures).
- Pushing/Pulling: Ability to push or pull classroom furniture or equipment as needed.
Central Catholic is committed to offering salaries and benefits that are highly competitive relative to similar Catholic secondary schools.
Compensation will be commensurate with the level of education, experience and certifications.
The salary range for this position is $115,000 to $125,000.
