About the opportunity:
If you are passionate about making a difference, we are looking for a Tax Manager. The Tax Manager position is responsible for overseeing the company’s direct and indirect tax functions, ensuring compliance with federal, state, local, and international tax regulations. This role manages tax planning, reporting, audits, and process improvement initiatives while supporting overall business objectives. This position reports to the Controller.
Where you will make an impact:
Direct Tax Responsibilities
- Manage preparation and review of federal, state, and local income tax returns.
- Oversee quarterly and annual income tax provisions (ASC 740), including current and deferred tax calculations.
- Coordinate with external tax advisors and auditors.
- Monitor changes in tax legislation and assess impact to the company.
- Lead tax planning initiatives to optimize effective tax rates.
- Support transfer pricing documentation and intercompany tax matters.
- Manage tax audits and respond to inquiries from tax authorities.
- Oversee estimated tax payments and extensions.
Indirect Tax Responsibilities
- Oversee sales and use tax compliance across applicable jurisdictions.
- Manage VAT/GST filings where applicable.
- Ensure proper tax treatment of transactions, including nexus analysis.
- Coordinate property tax and business license filings.
- Review exemption certificates and maintain compliance documentation.
- Support implementation and maintenance of tax automation tools.
- Manage indirect tax audits and related correspondence.
Additional Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain tax processes, controls, and documentation to ensure compliance and audit readiness.
- Partner with Accounting to ensure accurate tax-related general ledger entries and reconciliations.
- Drive process improvements and automation within tax reporting and compliance functions.
- Provide guidance and training to internal teams on tax matters impacting operations.
What you will bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA preferred).
- 5–8 years of progressive tax experience (public accounting & corporate preferred).
- Strong knowledge of U.S. federal and state income tax laws with working familiarity in international tax matters.
- Experience with US sales and use tax and international VAT/GST compliance.
- Familiarity with tax provision software and ERP systems.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Strong collaboration skills across departments.
- Detail-oriented with strong internal control mindset.
- Proactive approach to identifying risks and opportunities.
Where you will go:
- This position will work 2-3 days a week in the West Chester, PA office.
