Key Responsibilities
- Develop, coordinate, and deliver educational programs for nursing and support staff.
- Facilitate onboarding, orientation, annual competencies, and ongoing in-service training programs.
- Promote best practices related to infection prevention, workplace safety, emergency preparedness, resident care, and regulatory compliance.
- Monitor staff performance and provide coaching, mentoring, and educational support to improve clinical outcomes.
- Assist with quality improvement initiatives and participate in performance improvement activities.
- Maintain educational records, competency evaluations, attendance logs, and required training documentation.
- Collaborate with nursing leadership to identify educational needs and implement effective training solutions.
- Review employee-related incidents and contribute to workplace safety and injury prevention efforts.
- Support employee health initiatives, including required screenings, immunizations, and return-to-work processes as permitted within scope of practice.
- Stay current with healthcare regulations, evidence-based practices, and industry standards to ensure ongoing compliance and excellence.
- Active New York State Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Minimum of three years of experience in nursing education, staff development, or clinical training within a long-term care or post-acute care setting.
- Strong understanding of state and federal regulations governing long-term care facilities.
- Experience with quality assurance, performance improvement, and competency-based education.
- CPR certification required; instructor certification is a plus.
- Knowledge of infection prevention, employee health, workplace safety, and emergency preparedness.
- Excellent communication, presentation, coaching, and organizational skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound professional judgment.
- Demonstrated commitment to staff development, resident care quality, and regulatory compliance.
