- Deliver role-specific, competency-based training to new and existing RS, PS, and PD staff in alignment with DMH, HIPAA, CARF, and DOL requirements.
- Facilitate in-service trainings and provide instruction on electronic record-keeping systems and documentation standards.
- Conduct random competency testing to ensure staff proficiency.
- Support onboarding of new hires during their first 60 days, working side-by-side in the field.
- Identify performance strengths and areas for improvement; provide structured coaching for successful role transitions.
- Conduct follow-up training at 90 days, 6 months, and 1 year to ensure skill retention and application.
- Communicate training progress and concerns to supervisors; offer input on employee readiness beyond probationary periods.
- Develop and update training materials and curriculum using internal resources and external research.
- Manage the Relias LMS by assigning, tracking, and monitoring training completion and compliance.
- Analyze training data to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities for improvement.
- Assist in designing Leadership Development Program courses and ensure all content stays current with regulatory changes.
- Collaborate with program leadership and the Director of Training to identify training needs across CDD/Rainbow programs.
What You Bring
- High school diploma.
- At least one year of experience as a Trainer.
- At least two years of experience as a Residential Specialist or similar position (combination of RS and PS experience accepted).
- Strong communication, presentation, and organizational skills.
- Proficient with web-based computer programs and typing.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently.
- Flexible, reliable, and dependable.
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or Education.
- Three years of experience as a Residential Specialist.
- Schedule: Full-time | Monday-Friday 8:30am-5:00pm with some evenings/weekends based on program needs
- Pay: Starting $24.56/hr.
- Work Setting: Administrative office, group homes, and Independent Supported Living sites across the Kansas City metro
- Travel: Occasional travel to CDD-owned or leased properties in the greater Kansas City metro area
