What are the responsibilities and job description for the DIRECTOR OF RETREAT SALES position at CENTER FOR CHRISTIAN GROWTH INC?
Position Overview: The Director of Retreat Sales position is a full-time position responsible for growing our retreat ministry program by securing group business that reflects the T Bar M mission. This position is responsible for developing and executing a sales strategy that achieves and exceeds monthly and yearly revenue and ministry goals as well as support the retreat ministry with an “all hands-on deck” mindset.
Key Duties
- Exemplify our relational approach to ministry by prioritizing and building relationships with potential and existing customers
- Make prospective customers feel heard, understood, and valued in a way that encourages them to book with us
- Maintain relationships with existing customers and develop systems and strategies that encourage them to continue doing business with us – makes booking with us easy and they feel like we value them and take care of their needs
- Be familiar with Retreat and hospitality industry to know how T Bar M can uniquely serve each inquiring group
- Respond to all inquiring retreat guests by phone, email or in-person visits, emphasizing care for their group and discernment about our ability to serve them well
- Develop and execute a sales strategy to ensure a full Retreat ministry schedule that meets revenue goals
- Responsible for ensuring Retreat revenue goals are met
- Responsible to ensure pricing is competitive and leads to meeting goals
- Work with Director of Retreat Coordinators to create new offerings/new ideas that meet current customer needs to increase inquiries
- Give leadership to process for filling “holes” in calendar for both New Braunfels and Lake Travis properties
- Develop and execute the strategy to ensure that schedule and space are maximized with group business
- Handle all incoming inquiries and use good judgment to determine best fit for each group
- As needed, identify ideal groups needed to fill model and contact potential groups through “outbound sales”
- Develop and execute retention and referral efforts
- Work with Director of Retreat Coordinators and Marketing to ensure groups want to rebook; lead efforts to retain and stay in touch with groups after their departure
- Work with Marketing to find avenues for Referral efforts to find new groups and lead process to get referrals
- Responsible for ensuring Retreat revenue goals are met
- Give leadership to Sales Administrative Assistant
- Communicate group needs to Sales Administrative Assistant in a way that ensures accuracy and timeliness for booking process that is professional and efficient
- Direct Sales Administrative Assistant on special projects and/or tasks (ie, rebooking groups, special outreach efforts, retention efforts)

- Contribute to and achieve annual ministry goals for Retreats set by CCG Leadership
- Contribute to overall ministry efforts by accomplishing tasks as needed within the ministry community
- Spiritual Growth and Alignment
- Evidence of a growing relationship with Christ
- Awareness and desire to deploy his/her spiritual gift(s) in this ministry
- Agreement with T Bar M’s Doctrinal Statement
- A strong sense of calling to T Bar M

- Proven Sales Experience
- To interact, communicate, and present to team and customers/partners
- Understanding of hospitality industry with strong relational and sales skills
- Ministry experience preferred
- Present a professional and relational demeanor at all times as a representative of T Bar M and our ministry
- Have excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Good “fit” for T Bar M Camps & Retreats
- Camp ministry is a lifestyle in which we subject ourselves to accountability with one another as we live in community together
- Ability to keep up with the pace of “camp life”

- Ability to multitask; will manage several accounts at once and must be able to maximize our property calendar to increase revenue and serve our guests well

- Adherence to budget restraints and ability to make decisions factoring in revenue potential
- Strong administration skills are a necessity, working with accuracy and attention to detail

- Ability to be flexible and adapt to change
- Education/Experiences
- Bachelor's degree in marketing, sales, business, communications, ministry or non-profit management or related field
- Experience in ministry sales or in a related field
Compensation: Compensation for this role will be competitive with the market for similar roles and responsibilities. This role does include T Bar M's competitive benefits package. This is a salaried position, non-commission based.
