Electronics Quality Inspector

Location: Oro Valley, AZ
Employment Type: Direct Hire

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform incoming, in-process, and final inspections on aerospace electronic assemblies
  • Inspect PCB assemblies, soldered components, cable harnesses, and electro-mechanical assemblies
  • Verify compliance to engineering drawings, IPC standards, and customer specifications
  • Perform dimensional inspections using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and optical inspection tools
  • Create, review, and maintain AS9102 First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs)
  • Identify workmanship defects, solder issues, assembly non-conformances, and documentation discrepancies
  • Maintain traceability, inspection records, calibration documentation, and compliance reports
  • Support continuous improvement and aerospace quality initiatives

Requirements

  • 2 years of Quality Inspection experience in: Aerospace, Aviation, Electronics Manufacturing or Electro-Mechanical Manufacturing
  • Prior experience in an electronic manufacturing environment (required)
  • Strong experience performing: Incoming inspection, In-process inspection, Final inspection, Dimensional and visual inspection
  • Knowledge of IPC-A-610 workmanship standards
  • Experience inspecting: PCB assemblies, Soldered assemblies, Cable/wire harnesses, Electro-mechanical assemblies
  • Ability to read engineering drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams
  • GD&T and precision measurement experience required
  • Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy

Preferred Qualifications

  • IPC-A-610 Certification
  • AS9102 / FAIR experience
  • Aerospace electronics manufacturing background
  • Experience inspecting aerospace batteries, cameras, avionics, or electronic aerospace systems
  • Vocational or technical inspection training

  • Do you have experience using precision inspection equipment such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, comparators, optical inspection tools, or CMM equipment? (Yes/No)
  • Have you performed dimensional inspections and tolerance verification on precision aerospace or electronic components? (Yes/No)
  • Can you read and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, wiring diagrams, schematics, assembly drawings, and technical specifications? (Yes/No)
  • Have you worked in an AS9100 or aerospace-regulated manufacturing environment requiring strict compliance with quality and traceability standards? (Yes/No)
