Summary/Job Objective:
Salt Lake City based Rocky Mountain Recycling Services LLC, is a leader in sustainable recycling solutions, specializing in paper and plastic materials. We are looking for a driven, hands-on Sales Representative to grow our recycling business by identifying, qualifying, and developing accounts that can truly benefit‑ from custom recycling solutions.
Everyone has trash. But not everyone is a good recycling account.
Your job is to know the difference — quickly.
This is a consultative, field-based‑ sales role where you will:
Prospect and knock on doors
Identify recyclable material streams and volumes
Design practical, profitable recycling programs
Act as the ongoing liaison between the customer and our operations team

Duties and Responsibilities:
Find & Qualify the Right Accounts
Proactively generate your own leads through door-to-door‑ prospecting, networking, and relationship building
Quickly assess whether a business is a good recycling fit based on material type, volume, space, and logistics
Walk away from bad fits — we value smart selling over wasted time
Design Custom Recycling Programs
Identify types and volumes of recyclable materials (paper, cardboard, plastics, metals, etc.)
Recommend the best solution for each account, which may include:
Balers
Trailers
Other custom material handling‑ setups
Build proposals for new programs or competitive takeaways where customers already have infrastructure
Navigate Market Based‑ Pricing
Clearly explain how recycling markets impact pricing
Set expectations that:
In strong markets, customers may receive monthly checks
In weaker markets, services may require invoicing
Build trust through transparency and education
Own the Account Relationship
Serve as the primary point of contact between the customer and our company
Be responsive to both good news and complaints
Help troubleshoot issues and coordinate solutions internally
Maintain long-term‑ relationships that lead to retention and growth
Experience and Qualifications:
Required
Some college courses attended and successfully completed.
Relevant work experience may be substituted for educational expectations.
Proven experience in outside sales, ideally with door to‑ ‑door or field prospecting
Ability to self-generate‑ leads — we do not provide them
Strong judgment and the ability to quickly qualify or disqualify accounts
Comfort being customer facing, ‑hands-on, and ‑solution oriented
Excellent responsiveness and follow-up‑ skills
Ability to manage relationships and handle complaints professionally
A valid driver's license and a reliable personal vehicle are required for field work.
Preferred (but not required)
Experience in recycling, waste, logistics, manufacturing, or industrial services
Knowledge of material handling equipment (balers, trailers, containers)
Understanding of commodity based or ‑market driven‑ pricing models
