Production Assistant

Location: Onsite in Rahway, NJ as needed

Type: Ongoing contract position, hours will vary, ad hoc based

Compensation Range: $18 - 22 per hour

The Production Assistant provides tactical support to the production team with its daily activities associated with the execution of video projects. This entry level role will assist all members of the team in all phases of video production from the posting of assignments and schedules to the archiving of videos when they are completed. The Production Assistant must be enthusiastic, a team player and willing to step into support roles whenever and wherever needed.

Responsibilities:

• Assist with post-production needs, such as, providing files/assets to freelance editors, setting up Premier files, search for b-roll/footage, and create string-outs for selects.
• Responsible for ingesting media from daily productions.
• Responsible for catalogue, storage and archive of all finished videos, project files and raw footage.
• Manage retrieval of all finished video assets from freelance bench.
• Organize video files for efficient access.
• Organize element reels, client tapes and other production-related material so they can be easily located and always accounted for.
• Proactively generate relationships among client staff to assist in research and information gathering.
• Schedule and post assignments for upcoming productions.
• Communicate all necessary project information to client, editors, producers, production crew, graphic designers, editors and any other involved party.
• Stay up-to-date and knowledgeable about all departmental and client projects, programming and branding.
• Serve as a backup to Producers, Associate Producing as needed.
• Perform various studio crew positions as necessary such as cameraman, teleprompter, floor manager, as needed.
• Strive to create a fun, professional and positive work environment for clients and staff.
• Assist with administrative or duplications needs; other duties as assigned.
  
  
  

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Video/Film Production or related field is required.
• 1 years experience in the corporate or television production industry.
• Detail oriented, well-organized, able to effectively multi-task.
• Solid understanding of field and studio production and an ability to deliver precise instructions and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Understanding of modern digital video production, equipment and processes.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Fully capable of accurate time and resource budgeting.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Internet research.
• Additional skills such as camera operation, teleprompter or edit systems are desirable.
• Customer service orientation; professional presence and superior client relationship skills.
