Facilities Assistant (Summer)

Location: Central Office

Reports to: Facilities Coordinator

Summary of Role

Assist the Facilities Team by ensuring clean, safe, well-prepared, and excellent environments through maintenance, event setup, and ongoing facility care.

 

Position Status & Schedule

  • Temporary
  • Non-Exempt, Hourly
  • Part-time (20 hours weekly; maximum of 25 hours weekly)
  • Monday-Friday
  • Scheduled hours; may vary around scheduled conference/event needs
  • Not eligible for benefits or accruals
  • Pursuit Weeks and Dream Team Appreciation service dates are black-out days for time off. There may be other events required outside of your regular schedule; you will be informed in advance of these requirements. 

Essential Functions & Responsibilities

  • Respond promptly to event and maintenance work orders, ensuring timely resolution of issues to support daily operations, events, and services.
  • Prepare buildings and rooms for weekly location usage needs, including arranging furniture, checking equipment, and performing visual inspections.
  • Maintain cleanliness and functionality of all interior and exterior areas, including grounds, walkways, and common spaces.
  • Set up and break down furniture and equipment for classes, events, and gatherings 
  • Follow established procedures to ensure safety and readiness of environments for facility use, operations, and events.
  • Monitor facility conditions and follow safety protocols, actively identifying and addressing potential hazards, maintenance needs, or safety concerns.
  • Contribute to the overall success of Celebration Church by performing all other duties as needed

  • Adaptable and flexible to changing priorities, shifting between indoor and outdoor tasks and adjusting to different types of events or schedules.
  • Detail oriented, paying close attention to detail in all tasks, ensuring work is thorough, clean, organized, and up to standard.
  • Able to perform physically demanding tasks and work in various conditions, both indoors and outdoors, across multiple types of projects.

Education & Experience

  • Minimum 1-year relevant work experience preferred
  • Experience and familiarity with macOS and Microsoft Office Suite preferred
  • Familiarity with work management systems a plus

Work Environment & Physical Demands

  • Must be able to move about inside the office and around the Church facility.
  • Must be able to position self to maintain supplies and equipment on lower shelves and in closets.
  • Frequently move supplies and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds
  • Must be able to operate lawn maintenance equipment, lift, power tools and other equipment needed to perform assigned work tasks
  • Ability to perform repetitive physical tasks, including but not limited to stacking chairs, unstacking chairs, setting chairs in rows, setting up folding tables and chairs in large venues
  • Ability to consistently work outside in various climates and temperatures
