This role is essential to ensuring the successful financial execution of the project and requires deep coordination across project teams, subcontractors, and client systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction cost management, financial compliance, and change control, particularly within high-paced, complex industrial or tech infrastructure builds.

Key Responsibilities
- Support all project cost control activities, including budget tracking, cost forecasting, and compliance with Fortis internal processes and contractual obligations.
- Collaborate closely with PMs, PEs, Cost Control Manager, Project Accountants, and site admin teams to manage day-to-day cost and change management transactions.
- Maintain and update the change order log, tracking internal, subcontractor, and owner change orders from initiation to final approval.
- Ensure compliance with project-specific financial controls, cost structures, and billing protocols.
- Input and maintain accurate change order data in both Fortis and Owner systems.
- Monitor change order status and assist with issuing and routing Owner/Subcontractor change documents.
- Participate in month-end close activities including billing, revenue recognition, fee calculation, and labor projections.
- Conduct regular field audits and site visits to validate progress and identify cost variances.
- Analyze trends and generate reports on project financial health, risks, and opportunities.
- Support the development and refinement of internal cost control processes and contribute to organizational best practices.
- Coordinate with stakeholders to ensure cost/schedule alignment, risk tracking, and alignment with the Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) and contract terms.
- Provide quality assurance on change management, job costing, and project reporting procedures.
- 3 years of relevant experience in construction cost control, project accounting, or financial management, preferably in large-scale industrial or data center builds.
- Demonstrated experience with change management, earned value, forecasting, and budget compliance in a construction setting.
- Proficiency with cost management software, spreadsheets, and document control tools.
- Strong communication and organizational skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally across technical, financial, and operations teams.
- High attention to detail, with a proactive and problem-solving mindset.
- Ability to travel locally for regular site visits (minimum monthly).
- Must possess a valid drivers license and have a satisfactory driving record.
