Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct technical support for surveillance-related components and assemblies
- Serve as the go-to support for executing detailed tasks across the full lifecyclefrom procurement tracking to document preparation and technical interface management
- Coordinate drawing reviews, data package validation, and requirement verification in support of system surveillance and evaluation
- Support cross-functional collaboration with design, manufacturing, and systems engineering teams, contributing to program milestones and product readiness
- Track issue resolution, document changes, and maintain records for traceability, audit readiness, and reporting
- Interface with subcontractors, component engineers, and test teams to ensure timely and technically sound execution of surveillance activities
- Assist in managing classified records, controlled documents, and secure workflows in compliance with DOE/NNSA protocols
- Work with test labs, design engineering, and failure analysis groups to identify potential issues
- Perform Failure Mode and Effectiveness (FMEA) and Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF) analysis of new designs
- Conduct life cycle, thermal stress, and noise testing
- Recommend alternative tracking of Electronic, Electrical, and Mechanical (EEE) components
- Digital and/or analog design experience
- Hardware engineering and development experience
- Hands-on experience through full scale component production
- Bachelors degree in a relevant technical discipline (engineering, physics, applied technology, etc.)
- 10 years of technical experience supporting engineering or weapons-related programs
- Strong background coordinating component-level tasks, engineering documentation, and procurement processes
- Excellent communication and organizational skills; ability to work closely with PhD scientists and engineering leads
- Demonstrated familiarity with technical data packages, drawings, and configuration control processes
- Familiarity with classified work environments and DOE/NNSA programs.
- Prior experience supporting surveillance/test functions at a national lab
- Experience with component assemblies, and/or surveillance components in a weapons program environment
- Knowledge of SNL systems, weapons lifecycle processes, or national security mission areas
- Active DOE Q Clearance
- Skilled in navigating tasks that support high-level engineering outcomes while owning the hands-on execution work
