CEIS is seeking experienced MEP Equipment Quality Inspectors to support a large-scale, mission-critical data center construction program in Amarillo, Texas. These positions will focus on Level 1 (L1) and Level 2 (L2) quality inspections of critical mechanical and electrical equipment supporting data center operations, with a strong emphasis on factory quality surveillance, equipment acceptance, commissioning readiness, and turnover verification.

The ideal candidate is a subject matter expert in mission-critical equipment inspection with experience supporting manufacturing quality, factory acceptance testing, site acceptance testing, and operational readiness of large mechanical and cooling systems. Candidates should possess strong technical knowledge of chillers, fan wall units, cooling infrastructure, and associated MEP equipment while serving as an independent quality representative responsible for ensuring equipment meets project specifications, quality standards, and commissioning requirements.

Responsibilities

L1 Quality Inspections (Factory & Manufacturing Quality Oversight)

  • Perform factory acceptance inspections and manufacturing surveillance activities for critical mission-critical equipment prior to shipment
  • Verify equipment fabrication, assembly, welding, coatings, materials, dimensional tolerances, and workmanship comply with project specifications and manufacturer quality requirements
  • Witness and document factory testing activities, quality hold points, and inspection milestones
  • Review manufacturing records, quality documentation, material certifications, weld documentation, and inspection reports
  • Identify non-conformances and quality concerns during manufacturing and coordinate corrective actions with vendors and suppliers
  • Support Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) activities for chillers, fan wall units, cooling systems, and other critical MEP equipment

L2 Quality Inspections (Equipment Readiness & Site Acceptance)

  • Perform advanced equipment inspections upon delivery and installation to verify equipment integrity, completeness, and readiness for startup and commissioning
  • Validate critical equipment against approved submittals, manufacturer requirements, testing documentation, and project acceptance criteria
  • Support Site Acceptance Testing (SAT), commissioning readiness reviews, and turnover inspections
  • Verify completion of punch list items, corrective actions, and non-conformance resolutions prior to commissioning
  • Review turnover packages, factory testing records, startup documentation, and quality verification reports
  • Coordinate with commissioning teams, equipment manufacturers, contractors, and project stakeholders to ensure successful first-pass startup and operational readiness

Equipment Quality & Technical Oversight

  • Inspect and evaluate large-capacity chillers (300- and 500-ton systems)
  • Inspect fan wall units and associated cooling infrastructure
  • Review mechanical system assemblies, piping systems, pumps, heat exchangers, and supporting equipment
  • Verify equipment installation, alignment, labeling, testing, and operational readiness
  • Validate compliance with project specifications, approved submittals, manufacturer requirements, and quality standards
  • Support deficiency tracking, punch list management, and non-conformance resolution activities
  • Maintain detailed inspection reports and quality documentation
  • Assist in identifying recurring quality concerns and opportunities for continuous improvement

Requirements

  • Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification required
  • Minimum 5 years of quality inspection experience supporting industrial, mission-critical, manufacturing, energy, semiconductor, data center, or large-scale infrastructure projects
  • Demonstrated experience performing factory inspections, equipment acceptance inspections, or quality surveillance activities
  • Strong experience inspecting large mechanical systems, cooling infrastructure, and mission-critical equipment
  • Experience supporting Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), Site Acceptance Testing (SAT), commissioning, and turnover activities
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, fabrication packages, submittals, and technical documentation
  • Strong understanding of quality management processes, non-conformance reporting, and corrective action programs
  • Excellent written communication and inspection reporting skills
  • Ability to work independently and serve as a subject matter expert in the field
  • Willingness to travel as required to support manufacturing inspections and project needs
  • Ability to work onsite in Amarillo, Texas

Preferred Qualifications

  • Data center or hyperscale infrastructure experience
  • Experience supporting AWS, Microsoft, Google, Meta, Oracle, or similar mission-critical facilities
  • Mechanical commissioning or startup experience
  • Experience inspecting HVAC, chilled water, cooling, or industrial mechanical systems
  • Experience working directly with OEM manufacturers and fabrication facilities
  • Familiarity with Procore, BIM360, or similar quality management platforms
  • Additional quality certifications such as CQM, CQI, ASQ, or related credentials
  • Experience supporting large-scale manufacturing quality programs, industrial fabrication, or mission-critical equipment production
