Key Responsibilities
- Conduct industrial hygiene hazard assessments related to physical, chemical, and biological exposures.
- Perform field sampling and monitoring for hazards including asbestos, silica, lead, mercury, mold, noise, non-ionizing radiation, and temperature extremes.
- Recommend and support implementation of engineering controls, administrative controls, PPE, and respiratory protection programs.
- Perform confined space hazard assessments and entry surveys, ensuring compliance with applicable standards and documentation requirements.
- Conduct ventilation surveys, fume hood testing, and breathing air/compressor quality testing using direct-reading instruments and analytical methods.
- Prepare clear and accurate IH reports documenting sampling results, observations, and recommended control measures.
- Support development and maintenance of Safety Data Sheets (SDS), chemical inventories, and exposure databases.
- Operate, calibrate, and maintain industrial hygiene sampling equipment.
- Support Integrated Work Control processes including JHAs, risk assessments, work plans, and permit reviews.
- Provide IH-related training, presentations, and communication to employees and stakeholders.
- Participate in audits, inspections, program reviews, and incident investigations as needed.
- Collaborate with IH, safety, operations, and project teams to ensure effective hazard mitigation.
- Serve as a point of contact for IH-related inquiries and support internal customers and contractors.
- U.S. citizenship required to support access to regulated nuclear facilities and information.
- Ability to obtain and maintain required federal security clearance and successfully complete background investigation and drug screening.
- Associates degree, technical certification, or equivalent education in Industrial Hygiene, Occupational Health, Environmental Science, or related field with 6 to 8 years of relevant experience,
- Working knowledge of industrial hygiene principles, exposure monitoring techniques, and hazard evaluation practices.
- Familiarity with occupational health and safety regulations applicable to construction, remediation, waste operations, and industrial environments.
- Experience preparing technical reports and maintaining IH documentation systems.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work both independently and within multidisciplinary teams.
- Experience supporting DOE, nuclear, or highly regulated environments.
- Knowledge of radiation protection principles.
- Familiarity with IH data management systems and exposure databases.
- Experience conducting training and delivering technical presentations.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and standard reporting tools.
