Position Summary
The Assistant Project Manager (APM) supports the successful execution of commercial solar projects from contract close through commissioning. This role works closely with Project Managers, engineering, procurement, and field teams to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to CCE’s quality standards.
This is a high-growth role designed for individuals looking to develop into a full Project Manager.
Key ResponsibilitiesProject Coordination & Execution
- Assist Project Managers in planning and executing solar EPC projects
- Track project schedules, milestones, and deliverables
- Coordinate with internal teams (engineering, procurement, finance, field operations)
- Support subcontractor coordination and communication
Documentation & Compliance
- Maintain organized project documentation (contracts, drawings, permits, submittals)
- Assist with permitting, interconnection, and utility coordination
- Ensure compliance with local codes, AHJ requirements, and safety standards
Financial & Budget Tracking
- Support budget tracking and cost control efforts
- Assist with invoice review, change orders, and project financial reporting
- Help manage procurement logs and equipment delivery schedules
Communication
- Serve as a point of contact for internal updates and status tracking
- Assist in preparing client updates, reports, and meeting notes
- Participate in project meetings and ensure follow-up on action items
Field & Construction Support
- Coordinate with field teams to align schedules and resolve issues
- Help track construction progress and identify risks early
- Support commissioning and project closeout processes
QualificationsRequired
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 1–3 years of experience in construction, solar, or project coordination
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
Preferred
- Experience in solar, renewable energy, or EPC environments
- Familiarity with project management tools (Procore, Smartsheet, MS Project, etc.)
- Understanding of construction drawings and specifications
- Knowledge of permitting and utility interconnection processes
