Summary
Cedar Creek Energy is currently seeking a CAD / Solar Designer. This role works under the direction of the Engineering Manager and is responsible for supporting the design and development of solar photovoltaic systems.
The ideal candidate is proactive, flexible, and detail-oriented, with strong technical skills in CAD and Civil 3D. This individual will be a critical thinker with the ability to solve problems efficiently while maintaining a high level of professionalism. Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset are essential.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Work under the direction of the Engineering Manager to support design efforts
- Develop layout and electrical configurations of solar photovoltaic systems
- Use CAD software, including AutoCAD and Civil 3D, to create and modify design drawings
- Produce interconnection and permit plan sets, including electrical schematics and equipment specifications
- Utilize PV design software such as Helioscope for system layouts
- Collaborate with Project Managers, Developers, Engineers, and Field Staff to produce optimized designs
- Coordinate with third-party structural engineers as needed
- Ensure plans meet utility interconnection and permitting requirements
- Maintain organized project documentation and files
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience preferred
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D required
- Experience in solar design preferred
- ArcGIS experience is a plus
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Self-motivated with strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Positive, team-oriented attitude
Additional Requirements
- Ability to reliably commute or relocate to Blaine, MN 55449
- AutoCAD experience: 1 year preferred
Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour
