What are the responsibilities and job description for the Machine Operator position at CED Precision Machining?
Summary
The primary job function of a Machine Operator is operating CNC machines to produce precision metal parts. They may produce small batches or large quantities of parts, and ensure products meet precise specifications in a fast pace environment.
Essential Functions
· Operate machine tools such as lathes, and milling machines to produce parts utilizing a variety of materials
· Review blueprints or specifications for a job.
· Position workpiece on the lathe or milling machine.
· Ensure workpiece is properly lubricated and/or cooled.
· Detect problems by observation and listening for specific sounds.
· Inspect parts with precision measuring tools.
· Replace dull cutting tools.
· Check accuracy of work against blueprints, specifications and record measurements.
· Produce large quantities or parts.
· Perform other essential duties as directed by supervisor.
Required Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must have strong organizational, communication and multitasking skills. The qualifications may include:
· Machine operator experience
· Ability to read and use gauges, micrometer and calipers.
· Ability to read prints.
· Ability to read and follow documented instructions.
· Adhere to health and safety requirements.
· Teamwork and communication skills.
· High school diploma or equivalent.

Pay: $16.00 - $20.00 per hour
