CDL-A Semi-Local Truck Driver

Job Description:
The Drive United Group is hiring experienced CDL-A Semi-Local Truck Drivers for a dedicated account based in Tipp City, OH.
This position offers consistent freight, competitive earnings, frequent home time, and the opportunity to work with a dedicated customer on established routes throughout the Midwest.
Drivers will operate primarily in Ohio, Michigan, Indiana, Illinois, and Wisconsin, delivering freight to retail stores and distribution centers while maintaining a strong commitment to safety and customer service.
What You'll Do

• Operate a Class A tractor-trailer safely and professionally.
• Deliver freight to retail stores and distribution centers.
• Complete vendor backhaul pickups as assigned.
• Operate on both local and regional routes.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
• Maintain electronic logs and required documentation.
• Follow all DOT, FMCSA, and company safety regulations.
• Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers.
• Provide professional customer service during deliveries.

Freight Details

• Dedicated customer freight
• No-touch freight
• Approximately 85% drop-and-hook
• Store deliveries and vendor backhauls
• Average of 4 stops per load
• Average 2,500 miles per week

Equipment

• Single-bunk sleeper tractors
• 45', 48', and 53' dry van and reefer trailers
• Slip seating only during mandatory maintenance
• Trucks remain at the account during home time

Job Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications

• Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL-A)
• Minimum of 3 months of recent Class A CDL driving experience
• Must be at least 21 years of age
• Ability to obtain a Hazmat endorsement within 90 days of hire (reimbursement available)
• Must meet all DOT and FMCSA requirements
• Acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR)
• Ability to pass all required pre-employment screenings, including drug screening and background screening, as permitted by applicable law

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience operating regional or semi-local routes
• Experience with drop-and-hook freight is helpful but not required

Physical Requirements

• Ability to safely enter and exit a commercial vehicle
• Ability to perform vehicle inspections
• Ability to secure freight and complete delivery paperwork
• Ability to work in varying weather conditions
