Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Environmental Health and Safety Officer to join our team. As an Environmental Health and Safety Officer, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations. You will develop and implement policies and procedures to maintain a safe and healthy work environment. Additionally, you will provide training and support to employees to promote a culture of safety.
Duties:
- Develop, implement, and maintain health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures
- Conduct regular inspections to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with regulations
- Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses to determine root causes and recommend corrective actions
- Develop and deliver training programs on topics such as hazard communication, emergency response, and personal protective equipment
- Monitor workplace conditions to identify areas for improvement and implement appropriate corrective actions
- Collaborate with management to develop strategies for reducing workplace injuries and illnesses
- Stay up-to-date with changes in health, safety, and environmental regulations
- Prepare reports on safety performance, including incident rates, near misses, and corrective actions taken
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of occupational health and safety regulations
- Experience in developing training programs and delivering training sessions
- Familiarity with workers compensation laws and processes
- Ability to conduct root cause analysis investigations
- Excellent report writing skills
- CPR certification preferred
- Knowledge of EPA regulations is a plus
