- POSITION SUMMARY
The Machine Operator is experienced and qualified to independently operate label converting slitting, inspection, rewind equipment, including the AVS and AVT inspection equipment. The inspector checks for correct copy and color of the label order, completes all necessary paperwork and inspects the order in accordance with Quality procedures. Ensures that all customer specifications for finishing are followed.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS Daily interaction with production employees Good mechanical skills and vision Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos. Ability to use a calculator. Able to clearly write worksheets. Basic equipment operations skills. Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication and simple division. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, SOPs, maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Excellent color perception. Must pass Titmus Color Perception test.

PAST EMPLOYMENT EXPERIENCE
3 – 5 years with experience and/or education in printing helpful.
EDUCATION
High School diploma, GED certificate, or equivalent.
Qualifications:
- POSITION MAIN DUTIES
- Manual Handling Roll Lifters & skids.
- Independently operates Rewind, Slitting, Draytek, Rotoflex, AVS and AVT equipment.
- Follows policies and procedures as set forth by management.
- Visually inspects labels for quantity and quality in accordance with customer specifications.
- Completes an inspection worksheet for the function performed.
- Checks copy against Quality approved sample.
- Verifies that all finishing customer specifications are followed.
- Removes and disposes of unacceptable labels and splices out any inferior printed material.
- Completes a daily log of all orders inspected.
- Closes & packages finished rolls according to customer specifications.
- Communicates with supervisor on department and quality issues.
- Operates AVS and AVT equipment and verifies all settings are correct for label accuracy.
- Ensures basic maintenance operation of the equipment and notifies supervisor of maintenance problems.
- Verifies the finishing equipment settings.
- Enters AVS and AVT data into computer system to process jobs through production.
- Maintains work area in a neat and orderly condition in accordance with good housekeeping, 5S practices and safety requirements.
- Moves printed materials from the finishing area to the assigned area.
- Performs special projects / reports, as requested by management.
