Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role located in New Britain, CT for a Direct Support Professional - DAY. The role involves assisting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in achieving their goals through direct support and personalized care. Responsibilities include facilitating daily activities, supporting participants’ independence, fostering community connections, providing transportation as needed, and attending training sessions to ensure high-quality care. The role requires adherence to person-centered practices and support plans.
Qualifications
- Experience or knowledge in Human Services and working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
- Strong Interpersonal Skills and Communication abilities to foster positive relationships and engage effectively with participants, families, and team members.
- The ability to provide Training and guidance to individuals to help develop life skills and encourage independence.
- A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Patience, empathy, and the ability to work in a person-centered environment.
- High school diploma or GED
