The College of Business at the University seeks an energetic and innovative chair , who possesses a distinguished record of scholarly and professional achievements, appreciate the integration of learning, discovery and engagement, and has significant administrative experience. The chair position is a 12-month position. Candidates are expected to exhibit a strong commitment to scholarship, excellence in the arena of social work and to exhibit an open and collegial style of communication. Experience in fundraising and familiarity with the accreditation standards and re-accreditation procedures of the Council of Social Work Education are also desired. Among the responsibilities of the chair are the administration of instructional programs, budgetary management, faculty development, instruction, academic advising, and departmental assessment and accreditation functions and interface with our sister campus on the joint masters of social work program and the planning of a proposed joint Ph.D. in social work program. The normal teaching load for chairpersons is six credit hours per semester. As the academic leader and chief administrative officer of the Department of Sociology and Social Work, the chair reports directly to the Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences.
