Experience in fund raising is desired. Among the responsibilities of the chair are the administration of instruction programs, budgetary management, faculty development, instruction, academic advising, and departmental assessment. As the academic leader and chief administrative officer of the Department of Liberal Studies, the chair reports directly to the Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences.
