The Duty Station for this position is located at Fort Sam Houston, TX. You will be expected to physically reside within commuting distance of Fort Sam Houston, TX if selected.
A qualified candidate must possess the following:
Knowledgeable of benefits work processes and system processing rules. Must have technical knowledge of Windows applications, Benefits Data System and security requirements. Comprehensive understanding of benefits administration, benefits program requirements and benefits system capability. Comprehensive technical knowledge of the benefits System and development of complex electronic data imports and exports. Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
In addition to the above qualifications, candidates who possess the following qualifications will be considered "Highly Preferred" or "Best Qualified":
Experience determining system change requirements and coordinating with system contractor to initiate system upgrades. Experience coordinating with benefit vendors and insurance carriers to develop and implement electronic data imports and exports. Experience developing, implementing and maintaining of benefits systems. Experience as the main point of contact for field system users to resolve system access and operational problems.

Responsibilities:
Serves as a Benefits Administrator under general direction of the Supervisory Systems Administrator. Determines system change requirements and coordinates with system contractor to initiate system upgrades. Coordinates with Benefit vendors to develop and implement electronic data imports and exports. Responsible for developing, implementing and maintenance of the web based benefits system. Is the main point of contact for field system users to resolve system access and operational problems. Develops and provides system training to users. Provides daily guidance to systems technicians and admin clerks, insuring that all duties are performed correctly. Has the authority to assign duties to them. Ensures data from DA 3473 and DA 3434 is entered daily to the database, that incoming documentation is imaged and distributed to action offices, and benefit transactions are processed on the system which cannot be processed by field HROs on Benefits On Line. Ensures action mail is sorted, imaged and distributed daily. Provides systems assistance to field HROs as needed and maintains system security.Salary : $65,000
