People Services Director (HR Director)
Overview
Our client is seeking an experienced People Services Director (HR Director) to serve as the senior Human Resources leader for a respected acute care hospital in Elko, Nevada. This position will partner closely with executive leadership to drive workforce strategy, employee engagement, talent management, labor relations, and organizational culture initiatives.
The ideal candidate will bring strong HR leadership experience, a hands-on approach to employee and labor relations, and the ability to influence leaders while supporting a high-performing healthcare workforce.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic HR Leadership
- Serve as the senior HR advisor to executive leadership and hospital management.
- Develop and implement workforce strategies aligned with organizational goals.
- Lead initiatives focused on employee engagement, retention, succession planning, and culture development.
- Analyze workforce trends and HR metrics to support strategic decision-making.
Employee & Labor Relations
- Provide guidance on employee relations matters, investigations, disciplinary actions, and performance management.
- Support labor relations activities, including union interactions, grievance resolution, and contract administration.
- Partner with leadership to resolve complex workplace issues and drive positive employee relations.
Talent Management & HR Operations
- Oversee recruitment, onboarding, workforce planning, and retention programs.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment regulations.
- Manage HR policies, audits, leave administration, accommodations, and regulatory reporting.
- Supervise and develop HR staff while managing departmental operations and budgets.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Organizational Leadership, or a related field.
- Minimum 7 years of progressive Human Resources leadership experience.

- Labor Relations
- Recruitment & Talent Acquisition
- Compliance
- Performance Management
- Prior experience supervising and developing HR staff.
- Strong experience advising senior leadership and managing complex employee relations matters.
Preferred Qualifications
- Acute care hospital or healthcare industry HR leadership experience.
- Experience supporting unionized workforces and collective bargaining agreements.
- Participation in labor negotiations, grievance management, and contract administration.
- SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification.
- Experience with HRIS platforms and workforce analytics tools.
- Experience supporting organizations with 100 employees.

Salary : $100,000 - $130,000
