Test Engineer – Python / ETL Testing

Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Test Engineer with strong experience in both manual and automation testing to join a strategic technology initiative at our client. The ideal candidate will have hands-on expertise in Python/Pytest, ETL/data validation testing, and automation framework development.
This role will work closely with Agile squads and the Test Automation Working Group to build and maintain scalable, standardized testing frameworks across ETL, API, backend, and frontend applications.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform manual and automated testing across applications and data pipelines
- Develop and maintain automated test scripts and testing frameworks
- Execute ETL and data quality validation testing
- Participate in defect tracking, incident management, and release support
- Write clean, reusable automation code and review peer code
- Collaborate with developers, QA teams, and business stakeholders
- Contribute to testing standards, best practices, and process improvements
- Support CI/CD testing processes and Agile/Scrum delivery practices
Required Skills & Experience
Must-Have:
- Strong experience with Python automation testing
- Hands-on experience with Pytest
- Experience with ETL Testing and data validation
- Strong manual testing background
- Experience testing web-based and backend applications
- Knowledge of PostgreSQL / SQL
- Experience developing automation scripts and frameworks
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines
- Experience with Git/version control
- Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies
Preferred:
- Exposure to Java-based automation
- Experience working in financial services environments
- Understanding of API and backend testing concepts
Soft Skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
