Chief Financial Officer

We’re seeking a roll-up-your-sleeves CFO to lead all finance and accounting across multiple entities in a family-owned construction business. This role owns GAAP reporting, job costing/WIP, cash/treasury, union and certified payroll compliance, controls, audits/tax, banking/surety, and ERP/process optimization. Partner with ownership and operations to drive profitability, cash flow, and disciplined growth.

Key responsibilities:

• Own monthly close, GAAP financials, budgets/forecasts, KPIs, and multi-entity consolidations
• Oversee job costing, cost-to-complete, % of completion revenue recognition, change orders, retainage
• Manage cash flow, AR/collections, banking relationships, covenants; support bonding capacity
• Ensure union payroll, fringe/benefit reporting, and prevailing wage/certified payroll compliance
• Lead audits/tax with external advisors; strengthen internal controls and SOPs
• Optimize ERP/financial systems and reporting; partner with PMs and field leaders on performance

Qualifications:

• 10 years finance/accounting; 5 years leadership in construction required
• Deep construction accounting (WIP, POC, job cost)
• Strong cash management, banking/surety, and multi-entity consolidation background
• Proficient with construction ERPs (e.g., Sage/Intacct, Viewpoint, CMiC, Foundation); advanced Excel
• CPA preferred; Bachelor’s in Accounting/Finance required
• Hands-on, process-driven leader with excellent communication and cross-functional partnership
