HR Generalist/ Regional Recruiter

Location: Hybrid – Woodland Hills, CA (with regional travel)

About the Role CBG Building Company is seeking an experienced Regional HR Generalist/Recruiter to champion our people strategy across California. As a highly motivated self-starter, you will serve as the critical bridge between our local regional teams and Corporate HR. In this hybrid role, you won't just recruit top construction professionals, you will seamlessly transition them into the CBG culture, partner with local leadership on employee engagement, and serve as the on-the-ground HR liaison for our teams.

Operating out of our Woodland Hills office, you will ensure our projects are staffed with the right people at the right time, while actively supporting the development and retention of our current workforce. Key Responsibilities

Recruiting

• Partner with hiring managers and regional leaders to understand workforce needs and develop tailored recruiting strategies for each location.
• Manage full-cycle recruitment (source, screen, interview coordination, and feedback) for a range of roles, from entry-level to experienced project managers, superintendents, and safety professionals.
• Actively build pipelines and candidate networks for key roles
• Use creative sourcing methods, job boards, social media, networking, referrals, industry associations to attract top-tier construction talent.
• Coordinate and schedule interviews, facilitate feedback, and manage communication between candidates and hiring teams.
• Track and manage open requisitions, ensuring timely updates and accurate reporting.
• Promote a positive candidate experience that reflects CBG’s values and commitment to excellence
• Partner with Corporate Recruiting and California leadership in bolstering college recruiting and internship programs
• Support localized employer branding and community outreach to strengthen CBG’s visibility in the California market.

HR Generalist & Employee Experience

• Partner with Corporate HR to serve as the local liaison for the California region, ensuring a seamless onboarding and integration experience for all new hires.
• Collaborate with regional leadership to design, execute, and champion events and initiatives that drive employee engagement and retention.
• Act as a vital extension of the corporate training program, ensuring regional training initiatives are executed and providing on-the-ground feedback to the Training Board.
• Support in the roll out of corporate HR policies and HR initiatives across the California region.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• 5-8 years of combined experience in both HR Generalist and full-cycle recruiting roles, ideally within the construction or related industries.
• Solid understanding of core HR functions, including onboarding, employee relations, and engagement strategies.
• Strong knowledge of construction operations, terminology, and job functions.
• Proven sourcing skills and familiarity with platforms like LinkedIn Recruiter, Indeed, and applicant tracking systems.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to influence and partner effectively with both candidates and hiring managers.
• Highly organized self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment and can manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
