We are currently seeking an experienced insurance professional to join our team as a Senior Claims Representative.
Position Overview
The Senior Claims Representative is responsible for managing insurance claims from initiation to resolution. This includes verifying coverage, investigating claims, evaluating damages, negotiating settlements, and ensuring clear communication with all parties involved.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive claim assignments, verify coverage, and adjust claims directly or assign to independent adjusters.
- Instruct adjusters on procedures, review reports, and authorize settlements.
- Conduct thorough investigations by interviewing claimants and witnesses, inspecting property damage, and reviewing documents such as police reports and medical records.
- Assess damages related to property, personal injury, and liability claims; collaborate with appraisers and medical professionals.
- Negotiate fair and equitable settlements with claimants and their representatives.
- Maintain detailed records of investigations, communications, and decisions throughout the claims process.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for claimants, providing updates and ensuring transparency.
- Manage subrogation files and ensure proper recovery processes.
- Advise Member Services Representatives and the Risk Management Department on risk and coverage issues.
- Handle emergency calls during non-business hours and respond to urgent claims issues.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in property and casualty adjusting.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills; extensive telephone contact required.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Professional insurance designation preferred but not required.
