Employer's Liability Claims Representative

The Senior Employer’s Liability Claims Representative directly handles liability claims with a focus on employers liability claims under Part B of a standard Worker’s Compensation Policy. This position will require the ability to analyze coverage issues, manage litigation strategy, in addition to routine claim adjusting functions. Additionally, the position will involve drafting coverage letters, evaluating and frequent communication with various parties including attorneys. Strong writing and interpersonal skills are essential, as well as knowledge of standard industry liability forms.

The senior employment liability claims representative reports to the General Liability Claims Manager.

Location: This is a full-time remote position.

Job Responsibilities

• Manages an active desk of litigated and complex liability claims under business owner policies 
• Analyzes coverage issues under the Workers Compensation and Businessowners coverage forms, and other standard industry forms and endorsements
• Analyzes, investigates, and evaluates new loss notices and claim tenders
• Expeditiously analyzes and positions claim under applicable coverage
• Collaborates on setting reserves at appropriate level for claims
• Uses good judgment in managing ALAE in claims investigation
• Appropriately documents claim files in accordance with established guidelines
• Strategize claims towards appropriate resolutions while maintaining regular contact with stakeholders
• Obtains and maintains adjuster licenses, as required

Education and Experience:

• BA/BS degree a minimum of 5 years of experience OR a Juris Doctorate a minimum of 3 years of experience
• CPCU or other industry designation a plus
• State adjuster license required 
• 3 years prior general liability or workers compensation claims adjusting experience required

In accordance with pay transparency laws and regulations, the following good faith compensation range estimate is being provided. The salary range for this position is $115,000 - $140,000 per year. Final compensation will be based on candidate qualifications, geographic location, and other considerations permitted by law.
