Job Details
The Pharmacy Technician assists the Pharmacist in the preparation and distribution of medications to patient care units.
Responsibilities:
- Utilizes electronic medical record system to generate reports for medication fill.
- Check expiration dates of medications.
- Assembles and prepares parenteral medications.
- Fills medication cassettes and medication labels.
- Delivers medications to patient care areas.
- Maintains floor stock/Pyxis
- Inventory control.
- Pre-packs medications in ready-to-use format.
- Maintains equipment that are used for preparing and compounding medications.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Pharmacy Technician certification required
- NYS Pharmacy Technician license required
- Experience working in a hospital preferred
Salary Range
USD $33.94 - USD $33.94 /Hr.
