General Position Summary: Maintains proficiency of Raiser’s Edge Donor Database and related software. Processing batches of payments supplied by Accounting department’s daily deposits, or data entry of these batches prepared by others; assists with Campaign entries for the parishes and schools; answers constituents’ questions; scans completed batches for electronic storage; assists with filing; assists in upkeep of parish databases; maintains database for North Texas Catholic magazine; assists with credit card/direct debit processing and data entry of online gifts. Supervises work of student interns. 


Principal Accountabilities:

  • Processing batches of payments supplied by accounting department’s daily deposits, or data entry of these batches prepared by others, and oversees work of student interns.
  • Customer service to donors regarding questions or donation issues.
  • Assist with balancing deposits received against data entry in Raiser’s Edge for all fundraising campaigns.
  • Assist in upkeep of records in the donor database from parish rosters or returned mail.
  • Scan completed batches for electronic storage; assists with filing.
  • Perform all other duties and responsibilities as assigned or directed by the supervisor.
  • Perform related duties based on location needs.
  • Liaison for the Cristo Rey High School Corporate Work Study Program.
  • Oversee training, daily tasks, and projects for interns.
  • Maintain timecards, daily reports, and periodic reviews for interns.

Supervision Given and/or Received:

 Directs the work of student interns under the full supervision of the Director of Donor Services.

Internal Contacts:

  • The Diocese, Priests, Principals, Business Managers, and employees.


External Contacts:

  • Parishioners, diocesan vendors, local, state, and federal agency representatives, and auditors.


Working Conditions and/or Physical Requirements:

  • This position works in a typical office environment but is subject to stress due to the evolving and quickly expanding needs of the Diocese, tight deadlines and moderate workloads.
  • Ability to sit and perform computer work for lengthy periods of time.
  • Able to access and maintain centralized departmental files. Involves extending arms and reaching files stored in multiple levels on shelves, climbing up a stepladder to access files.
  • Ability to accept work interruptions while still remaining focused on duties.
  • Data entry via computer keyboard that requires repetitive and frequent hand and wrist movements.
  • Ability to lift up to 35 pounds without assistance and up to 60 pounds with assistance.


Travel Requirements:

  • Infrequent travel, by car, may be required to Catholic Center, parishes and/or schools.


Education and Experience Preferred:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Data Entry Skills 1-3 years required
  • Preferred Raiser’s Edge Experience


Knowledge and Skills Preferred:

  • Knowledge of office practices, record keeping techniques, and file maintenance
  • Knowledge of common cash receipts processes, procedures, and safeguards
  • Demonstrated ability to listen empathetically, make peace, and de-escalate
  • Demonstrated history of good judgement.
  • Demonstrated aptitude for adaptability and flexibility.
  • Ability to use various computer software programs; strong computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite, especially in Word and Excel.
  • Ability to use various office machines (copier, fax, phones, calculator, scanner, etc.) or ability to learn.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and follow directives from Director of Donor Services or Chief Development Officer in a timely manner.
  • Ability to receive, understand, retain, and complete verbal and written tasks.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in teams.
  • Ability to provide excellent customer service and work efficiently with staff, clergy, religious, and laity.
  • Ability to honor and maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to work well with people from a diverse variety of audiences.
  • Excellent organization, prioritization, and communication skills.


FLSA Designation: NonExempt (FT = 40 hours)
