Overview
The Teacher Assistant is responsible to support the Teacher in all aspects of classroom management. The Teacher Assistant is responsible for classroom services as deemed appropriate by the Day Care Director. This is a twelve-month position, working Summer Camp is required.
Responsibilities
- Assists the Teacher to plan and execute the classroom schedule.
- Shares with the Teacher the responsibilities for the physical safety and emotional well-being of the children assigned to their care.
- Responsible for the upkeep of the classroom and the care of the materials.
- Maintains a friendly but professional relationship with the parents and directs any problems to the Teacher or the Director.
- Attends meetings and workshops necessary for professional growth.
- A friendly professional relationship should be maintained at all times in the classrooms with the Teacher.
- The Teacher Assistant's behavior and dress should be professional.
- Responsible for other assignments as required by the Director.
Qualifications
- High school diploma is required
- 2 years' experience working with preschool children
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.50 per hour
