VP Finance/Head of Finance

We are seeking a strategic and hands-on finance leader to join a growing food manufacturing and distribution organization as the senior-most finance executive in North America. dguThis is a high-impact leadership role reporting directly to the Regional President, acting as a true strategic co-pilot and key member of the executive team.

Role Overview

The VP Finance will lead the full finance function across the U.S. and Canada, driving financial strategy, performance management, and cross-functional business partnering within a complex, multi-category food manufacturing and distribution environment. This leader will play a critical role in shaping profitable growth, strengthening financial discipline, and enabling value creation through both organic initiatives and M&A.

Strategic Leadership & Business Partnering

• Act as a key advisor to the Regional President and leadership team
• Translate strategy into financial outcomes and data-driven decisions
• Support pricing, channel strategy, investments, and acquisitions

FP&A & Performance Management

• Own annual planning, forecasting, long-range planning, and S&OP alignment
• Build executive dashboards, KPIs, and scenario modeling tools
• Deliver insights to support commercial and operational decision-making

Controllership & Compliance

• Oversee US GAAP reporting, close process, internal controls, and audits
• Ensure compliance across US and Canada operations
• Manage statutory reporting and cross-border accounting requirements

Margin & Commercial Finance

• Partner with Supply Chain on cost optimization and COGS improvement
• Support Sales and Commercial teams on pricing strategy and revenue management
• Drive margin recovery and disciplined promotional governance

Working Capital & Cash Management

• Optimize inventory, AR/AP, and cash conversion cycle
• Lead capital planning and investment evaluation
• Support treasury activities including FX exposure and intercompany flows

M&A & Integration

• Lead due diligence, valuation support, and post-merger integration
• Evaluate tuck-in and bolt-on opportunities aligned with growth strategy
• Partner with external advisors and internal leadership teams

Cross-Border Finance (U.S. & Canada)

• Oversee finance operations across both regions
• Manage transfer pricing, tax considerations, and FX exposure

Team Leadership

• Build and develop a high-performing finance organization
• Establish succession planning and talent development pathways

📌 What We’re Looking For

• 15–20 years of progressive finance experience
• Background in food manufacturing, distribution, or consumer-facing industries preferred
• Strong experience in controllership, FP&A, and commercial finance
• Big 4 and CPA preferred (MBA a plus)
• Proven M&A exposure (diligence, integration, valuation support)
• Experience working in complex, cross-border environments
• Strong executive presence with a builder mentality and hands-on leadership style
