About the Role
We are looking for a dependable and skilled Facilities Maintenance Technician to assist in the upkeep of both residential and commercial properties. This hands-on position plays a vital role in ensuring the safety, functionality, and overall appearance of the buildings we manage. As an integral member of our maintenance team, you will handle a variety of tasks across multiple trades to help create a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for tenants, residents, and staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine inspections and carry out scheduled preventive maintenance
- Diagnose and repair issues related to plumbing, electrical systems, HVAC, and household appliances
- Execute minor carpentry tasks, drywall repairs, and occasional roofing work
- Maintain and service HVAC units and major appliances
- Respond quickly to maintenance requests and after-hours emergencies
- Keep tools, equipment, and work areas clean and organized
- Accurately document completed work and escalate complex problems as needed
- Follow all safety guidelines, building codes, and company policies
Qualifications
- Proven experience in property or facilities maintenance, or skilled trades such as plumbing, HVAC, or electrical
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical training is a plus
- Certifications in HVAC and/or electrical work highly valued
- Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation, including evenings and weekends
Preferred Skills
- Strong troubleshooting skills, especially with HVAC and electrical systems
- Proficient in plumbing diagnostics and repairs
- Experience maintaining major household appliances (e.g., refrigerators, ovens, washers/dryers)
- Basic knowledge of carpentry, drywall, and general repairs
- Excellent time management and problem-solving capabilities
- Able to work independently or collaboratively within a team
- Physically capable of lifting, climbing, and safely operating maintenance tools
- Comfortable using digital work order systems and mobile maintenance platforms
