JOB TITLE: Team Lead

DIRECT REPORTS: General Manager & Assistant/Dispensary Manager

PAY RANGE: $21.00/hr tips

JOB STATUS: Full-time

POSITION SUMMARY: Our ideal Team Lead is energetic, kind, has good leadership skills, and offers cannabis insight. Catalyst values and prioritizes investing in our staff to put them on track for promotions within the company, and the Team Lead role is the first step up on the ladder. Leads assist guests, clients, vendors and management whenever possible. They assist the management team with the activities and operations of the store while abiding by company policies, procedures and operational guidelines. Team leads will support staff from both the front and back of the house. They must possess the ability to listen well and communicate effectively with various audiences, respectfully delegate tasks to their team, and consistently develop their cannabis/product knowledge, setting the standard for the entire sales team.

CUSTOMER SERVICE EXPECTATIONS:

  • Acknowledge every customer as soon as they enter our facility by greeting them with welcoming statements such as, “Welcome to Catalyst!” “My name is ______, what can I help you find today?” “Have you been told about our running deals/promotions today?” “Do you have any questions about any other products you may have been curious about?”
  • Speak clearly and professionally to all guests and coworkers
  • Go above and beyond to give our guests an enjoyable and informative experience in order to showcase the Catalyst standard of customer service
  • Responsible for supporting General Manager, Dispensary Manager, and Inventory Managers
  • Serve as break/lunch relief for both budtenders and the front desk receptionists
  • Responds to all customer and budtender questions, concerns, or suggestions and reaches out to management when necessary.
  • Maintain a compliant and clean facility and assures side-work completion every shift.
  • Responsible for sales and customer experience by maintaining a safe and inviting store environment
  • Information-based training will be given to all budtenders in order to educate customers with budtenders expected to continue education on all products
  • Maintain product knowledge of all products in-store in order to communicate to customers and patients
  • Ensure the sales floor is properly stocked and the presence of the store is well maintained
  • Promote a work environment that is positive, customer-service oriented, and compliant with established policies and procedures.

OPERATIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Make sure labels are always facing out and the product is properly displayed
  • Accurately and compliantly barcode all products
  • Work with management to do cycle counts and help with vault organization
  • Work with management when deliveries come in to help organize and verify METRC data
  • Making sure to constantly use FIFO/FEFO when intaking and stocking product
  • Look to achieve daily sales goals and encourage the team to meet these goals
  • Responsible for properly communicating deals and specials to the team
  • Making sure all side work checklists are completed and signed off by the responsible team members
  • Work with management to make sure all employees are taking their assigned breaks on time
  • Completes all hands-on training for new budtenders and shares knowledge with the team
  • Accurately use and maintain the Point Of Sale (POS) system (Treez)
  • Ensures correct cash handling and discount application in every transaction; accurately process payments from customers- issue receipts, refunds, credits, and change properly
  • Ensures accurate and timely data entry for inventory control
  • Assists management team with any additional requests and tasks

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Be at least 21 years of age
  • Previous retail/customer service experience; cannabis sales experience preferred
  • Ability to pass a comprehensive background/Live Scan check if necessary
  • Must adhere to Employee Handbook policies
  • Must have a high school diploma or GED
  • Proficiency in point-of-sale cashier systems
  • Ability to perform general mathematical calculations and have cash handling skills
  • Must be able to individually lift up to 50lbs.
  • Must be able to sit, stand, stoop, crouch, reach, and lift for long periods of time
  • Must be able to stand for at least 4 hours straight
