This role is ideal for an experienced, solutions-driven revenue cycle professional who thrives in a dynamic, collaborative environment and is motivated by operational excellence.
Position Overview
The Revenue Cycle Operations Analyst is a key operational resource embedded within Cass Health’s revenue cycle. This highly skilled and cross-functional role provides hands-on support across Patient Access, Prior Authorization, Revenue Integrity, Coding, Billing, Posting, and Patient Financial Services. Acting as an internal consultant and problem solver, the Analyst reinforces compliance, drives process improvement, and supports departments experiencing high volume, staffing gaps, or workflow challenges.
Working under the direction of the Chief Financial Officer and in partnership with revenue cycle leadership, this position promotes clean claims, reduces denials, and strengthens cash conversion through strong Epic competency, deep payer knowledge, and data-driven insight.
Key Responsibilities
- Provides flexible operational coverage across registration, prior authorization, billing, and financial services workflows, ensuring continuity and efficient throughput.
- Works directly in Epic work queues to resolve errors, release claims, and secure timely claim submission.
- Performs payer outreach, claim follow-up, and account audits to validate accuracy and identify missed reimbursement opportunities.
- Analyzes remittance advice, denials, and zero-balance claims to identify trends, gaps, and root causes—and partners with leadership to implement prevention strategies.
- Participates in system optimization efforts, workflow redesign, testing, and validation to support compliant, efficient revenue cycle operations.
- Provides onboarding, cross-training, and refresher education to strengthen staff knowledge and ensure consistent application of payer rules and organizational policies.
- Develops and maintains procedures, training materials, and workflow documentation to promote standardization and operational excellence.
- Assists with special projects, data reporting, and performance metrics in collaboration with the CFO, Controller, and Revenue Cycle leadership.
- Works closely with the Revenue Cycle Systems Analyst to validate claim logic, troubleshoot system issues, and support interface accuracy.
Qualifications
- Minimum of seven (7) years of progressive experience in healthcare revenue cycle operations.
- Broad working knowledge of hospital and clinic revenue cycle functions, including registration, billing, charge capture, payer requirements, and collections.
- Advanced proficiency with Epic or comparable EHR systems, including work queue management and claim edit resolution.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills, with the ability to interpret data and translate findings into operational improvements.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, navigate multiple priorities, and collaborate effectively across departments.
- Certified Revenue Cycle Representative (CRCR) required or must be obtained within six (6) months of hire.
