WHAT CAN YOU EXPECT AS OUR HIGHWAY EQUIPMENT OPERATOR?
As a Highway Equipment Operator, you begin by conducting a thorough inspection of your equipment to ensure everything is in top shape for the tasks ahead. Climbing into the backhoe, you handle routine road maintenance, navigating through your assigned route and checking for any issues that need immediate attention. You switch to the snowplow to clear roads and parking lots, making sure they're safe for drivers. Next, you operate motor graders and dozers, focusing on road repairs and mowing ditches to keep the area neat and functional. Throughout the day, you engage in manual labor to ensure bridges and roads are well-maintained while staying alert for any necessary equipment repairs. Your equipment operating work is vital, contributing to the safety and efficiency of the roadways.
This heavy machinery operating position works four 10-hour days during spring and fall.
