What are the responsibilities and job description for the MACHINE OPERATOR position at Superior Grain Equipment?
Typical schedule is Monday-Thursday 7a.m. - 5:30 p.m. (Busy season may include Fridays)
The Machine Operator is responsible for the daily setup and operation of the Stamtec metal press machine.
Essential Job Functions
- Efficiently and accurately set up and operate the metal Stamtec for routine established work; and assist with operating other fabrication machines as necessary
- Load, install and correctly set up the tools required; including computer set-up
- Safely load sheet metal into machine, unload fabricated product and stack safely, properly, and securely
- Verify conformance of work pieces to specifications
- Safely operate forklifts and other equipment to handle materials and completed work
- Operate hand & power tools, and other equipment as required to complete projects
- Assist other team members to get job done, as well as other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Experience in metal manufacturing environment is preferred
- Competent at basic dimensional measuring and math; as well as the ability to quickly learn the use of precision measurement tools
- Computer knowledge a plus
- Ability to work independently and with a team
Physical Demands
- Routinely and continuously walking, standing, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, climbing, stooping, reaching, and handling
- Ability to lift at least (75) pounds
- Working near moving mechanical parts; near noise routinely, and exposed to outdoor elements
