Responsibilities and Tasks
• Operate forklifts to unload live poultry trailers and transport cages/coops.
• Move live bird containers safely and efficiently throughout the receiving area.
• Supply the production line with birds according to production schedules.
• Inspect forklifts daily and report mechanical issues or safety concerns.
• Follow company animal welfare guidelines during handling and transportation activities.
• Maintain accurate records of loads received and production requirements.
• Assist with loading and unloading equipment and supplies as needed.
• Follow all safety regulations, including forklift operating procedures.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors, truck drivers, and production personnel.
Requirements
• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Previous forklift experience required.
• Forklift certification or ability to obtain certification.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced poultry processing environment.
• Basic understanding of workplace safety procedures.
• Strong attention to detail and teamwork skills.
PREFERRED SKILLS:
• Experience in poultry processing, agriculture, warehousing, or manufacturing.
• Knowledge of live receiving operations.
• Ability to operate different types of industrial equipment.
• Understanding animal welfare and food safety requirements.
Physical Requirements
