This position reports to the safety manager. Will aid in planning, directing, and implementing an organizational safety program to ensure a safe, healthy, and accident-free work environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS ::
- Ensure that Company safety procedures are followed.
- Ensure that Company environmental and health safety standards are met.
- Maintain accurate and complete Environmental, Health & Safety records in accordance with governing regulations and company policies.
- Measure Plant performance benchmarking against best-in-class manufacturing and leadership role to create and implement plans to improve performance.
- Encourage and maintain high employee involvement in health and safety systems including Case Farms Safety Audit requirements.
- Conduct EH&S program training for new hires and organize annual training.
- Develop and conduct new training programs as needed.
- Conduct incident investigations including "root cause analysis" for corrective action.
- Perform worksite and incident trend analysis to sustain a comprehensive system for hazard prevention and control.
- Responsible for preparing, maintaining, and updating environmental policy, procedures, and manuals.
- Ensures compliance with all Environmental, Health & Safety regulations, and keeps abreast of any changes to laws and regulations that impact the organization.
- Implement/maintain a Behavior-Based Safety Program.
- Perform other duties as may be assigned by management.
- Associate degree in a safety-related field/ or equivalent.
- Proven project management skills Proficient in PC applications.
- Excellent documentation and organization skills.
- Excellent communications and interpersonal skills required.
- Ability to work in cross-functional teams.
- Initiative to lead and work independently, self-starter, and sound decision-making skills.
PREFERRED SKILLS:
- OSHA 30 Hour Certification Strong preference for safety experience in a manufacturing setting.
- Fluency in Spanish is a plus.

- Exposure may consist of wet and moist floors which include metal and plastic grating surfaces.
- May be exposed to temperatures of 28 degrees to 100 degrees Fahrenheit with both ambient and 100% humidity.

- May be exposed to chemicals used in poultry, food, processing facility.
- Must wear and use protective and safety equipment required for the job as directed by the Company.
- Work may occasionally include lifting, reaching, bending, pushing, and squatting.
