What are the responsibilities and job description for the Complex GM of Poultry Operations position at Case Farms and Careers?
This position is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the activities and efforts of the team members in a complex to produce quality products, within a safe environment, in a timely manner that meets the needs of the customer, all while maintaining profitability. This position is also responsible for leading the various teams at this complex to achieve operational metrics established with the SVP of the Business Unit, while providing our customers with exceptional quality and service in alignment with Case Farms operations of excellence.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS ::Directs and coordinates overall operations for the Complex. Ensures that objectives are achieved at the lowest cost consistent with quality requirements. Delegates authority to key supervisors in production, production control, methods, cost accounting, maintenance, and related operations.
- Directs production and ensures cost effectiveness and consistency with prescribed quality, accuracy, and performance standards.
- Maintains plant property and equipment in good condition to ensure compliance with governmental regulations and to ensure effective and economical operations.
- Prepares and submits operating reports to management to inform them of the current production status and to make recommendations to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
- Assures effective customer service and relations through timely delivery of quality product.
- Selects, trains, develops, and motivates manufacturing staff to maintain plant operation.
- Assures compliance of all plant operations with company policy and federal, state, and local regulations.
- May set production and processing goals for Live Production and Plant Processing.
- Coordinating production units to achieve company-wide and individual complex goals with a minimum amount of waste or rework.
- Establishing complex objectives and identifying the requirements to meet production needs.
- Providing direction and assisting in the development of managers that can be promoted to higher levels of responsibility.
- Evaluating various capital projects submitted by management to determine their feasibility.
- Approving all new hires and overseeing personnel salaries and wages.
- Minimum of 7 years of DIRECTLY RELATED experience in a poultry processing plant.
- Bachelors degree in a related field. DIRECTLY RELATED work experience will be accepted on a year-for-year basis in lieu of a Bachelors degree.
- Position is mostly sedentary but may require occasional moving to other offices or buildings, but requires standing, walking, bending and stooping.
- Extraneous situations may arise for which additional physical demands may be required.
- Exposure primarily consists of wet and moist floors which include metal and plastic grating surfaces.
- May be exposed to temperatures of 28 degrees to 100 degrees Fahrenheit with both ambient and 100% humidity.
- May be exposed to noise ranges of 50 db to 110 db.
- May be exposed to dust, feathers and all chemicals used in poultry, food, processing facility.
- Must wear and use protective and safety equipment required for the job as directed by the Company.
- Occasional exposure to carbon dioxide vapors 10ppm and chlorine less than 20 ppm.
